Celebrate the profound contributions of African-Americans
in an exciting new way. The Black History Laser Tribute is
a musical retrospective featuring toe-tapping songs from
legends, such as Louie Armstrong, Cab Calloway, Chuck
Berry, Ray Charles, and Aretha Franklin. Later, it evolves
into a powerful tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.,
with his profound “I have a Dream” address. It ends with a
crescendo of current pop artists of varied races and
ethnicities; artists who have all been inspired by the
legends featured earlier in the program. In this way, we
drive home the message that great vision, like great
music, transcends petty differences between race, color,
and creed. A great cultural program, especially for Black
History Month (Feb).
